3D Santa Claus – Digital cutting process

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9apmk-Ixbs

OUR CHALLENGE: Recreate a 3D Santa Claus using Digital Cutting. We chose an angled cutting orientation; allowing us to give relief and more interesting details to the piece by combining a minimum of cardboard layers.

A visual tracking method was created within the cutout to verify which step was assembled and the accuracy of the assembly sequence. Also, the addition of a red soft touch lamination and hot stamping on corrugated board is always a critical issue because of the flutes.  The 250 Santa Clauses manufactured are identical despite the 43 glued and assembled pieces.

We also created a digitally cut chimney box, made of white cardboard in white velvet lamination to which we added a holographic stamping. A digital tabletop debossing was also done to create  snow and brick visual imitation on the box.

Bold, creative and innovative… This is who we are and what our daily challenge is!

Folding box collection – Hybrid packaging concept

https://youtu.be/I7ygDe6qKk8

Creating a collection of boxes offering great protection for sensitive but sometimes heavy products, without sacrificing visual impact; that was our challenge! We also had to maintain consistency by adapting the pieces to the specific formats and characteristics of each product. Our challenges were great! And furthermore, the strategic printing positioning needed to create a transport box larger than offset printing formats. The design of a packaging mechanism supporting nearly 40 pounds, including a one-piece plastic casing to safely remove the product from the packaging. A tin ring was embossed with the client’s logo to hold the cables in place.

We appealed to the ocular and touch senses by choosing an Orange/White color and the addition of a soft-touch velvet finish. A hybrid box design was also used (rigid bottom/semi-rigid lid) bringing a touch of elegance and distinction. This collection includes about 31 different pieces, 7 raw materials and 7 manufacturing processes which are equally different from one another . What a great challenge!
